Meta Platforms to Power AI Data Centers with Renewable Energy
Meta Platforms (META) is accelerating its renewable energy commitments to meet the surging power demands of its artificial intelligence infrastructure. The company has signed a deal with Invenergy for an additional 791 megawatts of solar and wind capacity, bringing their total partnership to 1,800 MW.
The move comes as tech giants race to secure energy for AI data centers amid intensifying competition with Microsoft and Amazon. Meta's portfolio now includes contracts with solar providers, geothermal startups, and exploratory talks with nuclear developers.
